Major News! Synergistic Innovation Center for Rice Bran Intensive Processing Officially Established at Zhunong Rice Industry

On December 16th, the unveiling ceremony for the Synergistic Innovation Center for Rice Bran Intensive Processing was grandly held at the Zhunong Rice Industry Food Industrial Park. Co-established by the Academy of National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration and Hunan Zhunong Rice Industry Co., Ltd., this center marks a new phase in industry-academia collaboration, transitioning from "signing agreements" to "physical operation and comprehensive advancement." It will inject robust scientific and technological momentum into promoting the high-quality development of the grain industry.

Attendees at the unveiling ceremony included Qiu Ping, Deputy Director of the Academy of National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration; Zhong Jianbo, Secretary of the Nan County Party Committee; Lin Qinlu, Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Deep Processing of Rice and By-products and Dean of the Mizhen Research Institute; Huang Qingming, Chairman of Hunan Zhunong Rice Industry Co., Ltd.; and Liao Juan, General Manager.

In his speech, Qiu Ping, Deputy Director of the Academy of National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, stated that the co-establishment of the Synergistic Innovation Center for Rice Bran Intensive Processing is a concrete measure to implement the important spirit of "promoting the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation," as outlined in the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the recommendations of the 15th Five-Year Plan.

He emphasized that food security is a matter of "paramount national importance," and scientific and technological innovation is the core driving force for promoting the high-quality development of the grain industry. Rice bran, as an important by-product of rice processing, holds immense potential for resource exploitation and broad application prospects. It represents a crucial breakthrough direction for cultivating new growth points in the rice industry and reconstructing the value chain.

Qiu Ping expressed that the establishment of the Synergistic Innovation Center in cooperation with Zhunong Rice Industry adheres to enterprise demand as the guide. Focusing on key tasks such as rice bran oil, extraction of functional components, and development of high-value products, the center will accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies and form replicable, promotable achievements and models. It aims to effectively leverage the supportive and leading roles of industry research institutes and leading enterprises in the construction of a modern grain industry system, jointly making new and greater contributions to safeguarding national food security and promoting the high-quality development of the grain industry.

Witnessed by all attendees, Secretary Zhong Jianbo and Deputy Director Qiu Ping jointly unveiled the plaque for the Synergistic Innovation Center for Rice Bran Intensive Processing. Upon its official launch, this platform will become an important engine for promoting the high-value utilization of rice bran and facilitating the transformation and upgrading of the grain and oil industry. It also sets a new model for industry-academia synergistic innovation in driving the innovative development of the local grain industry.
