The Parent Company of Zhunong Mizhen Biotechnology Was Named Vice Chairman Unit of a National Sub-Alliance, Advancing the High-Value Utilization of Rice By-products

On October 13, 2025, the inaugural meeting of the Sub-Alliance for Comprehensive Utilization of By-products of the National Rice Deep Processing Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance was held in Nan County, Hunan Province, marking a new stage in the high-value utilization of rice by-products in China.

At the meeting, the sub-alliance was officially unveiled by Academician Jin Zhengyu of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chen Liangyu, former Deputy Director of the China Rural Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Representatives from government departments, universities, research institutions, and leading enterprises attended the event.

Zhunong Rice Industry Co., Ltd., the parent company of Hunan Zhunong Mizhen Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was elected as a Vice Chairman Unit of the sub-alliance. Chairman Huang Qingming was appointed Secretary-General of the alliance. This appointment recognizes the company’s technological strength in the rice deep processing field and its contribution to industry development.

Academician Jin Zhengyu pointed out in his speech that rice deep processing is an important part of the grain industry chain and plays a key role in ensuring national food security. The establishment of the sub-alliance will build a collaborative innovation platform to jointly promote the formulation of industry standards and accelerate scientific and technological breakthroughs in the comprehensive utilization of rice by-products.

The conference also featured academic exchanges by experts including Chen Liangyu, Xie Jian, Lin Qinlu, Chen Keming and Guan Guoliang, who discussed the current state and prospects of rice by-product utilization and its technological innovation trends. Rice by-products such as rice bran, rice germ, and rice essence, which were once considered low-value materials, now demonstrate significant industrial potential. Through deep processing, they can be transformed into rice protein, rice polysaccharides, rice bran oil and other high-value functional ingredients, widely used in food, nutrition, health, beauty and other industries, forming a new economic growth point in the rice industry.

The event was hosted by the National Rice Deep Processing Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance and co-organized by the National Engineering Research Center for Deep Processing of Rice By-products, the Mizhen Research Institute, and Nan County Science and Technology Bureau.
